There's an ever growing pile of books I want to read…
I have finally created a second video review. Well done me!
It’s for Longbourn by Jo Baker and you should watch it to find out about the book. It’s as spoiler-free as I could possibly make it. Which is mostly.
As before, the music is Ukelele Vs. Kazoo and Whistle Too by Kara Square. It is used under Creative Commons and available at ccmixter.org/files/mindmapthat/41199. You can’t actually see the design on the T-shirt I am wearing in this video, which is a shame because it’s my Attack of Literacy t-shirt featuring possibly-evil Jane Austen. It’s a pretty cool shirt – you can see the design here.
Don’t forget to check back here on Monday to read Jo Baker’s blog post!
I think I read Longbourn in June and, when I finished, I announced to myself, my husband and my twitter followers that it would be the focus of my second video review. I thought it was great and I felt like I had a lot to say about it. I even had some time off planned that I thought would be perfect for filming, editing and uploading the review.
And then everything went wrong.
The charger for the laptop with video editing software on it died. We ordered a new computer but there was some kind of screw up and the order never came and had to be cancelled. We reordered and our computer arrived but then every time I tried to do the filming it went pear-shaped. The sun wouldn’t co-operate or the footage contained too much noise from the train tracks near where I live or people were painting the windows of our flat so they had to be kept open or the battery on my camera died.
This review was finally finished and ready to post today. The minute that this blog post goes live, I am going out in search of food. I’m starving.
